Ellis, F. P., Smith, F. E., and Walters, J. D. (1972). Brit. J. industr. Med., 29, 361-377. Measurement of environmental warmth in SI units. Although 'Environmental Warmth and Its Measurement' (Medical Research Council War Memorandum No. 17), written over 25 years ago for the Royal Navy, is still widely used and has not been revised, the validation and amplification of the methods proposed by the late Dr. Thomas Bedford have in the meantime been in hand continuously in the laboratory and in the Fleet under the auspices of the Council's Royal Naval Personnel Research Committee. While it was not considered appropriate by Council to replace or to rewrite the Memorandum at the present time, in view of the recent adoption of the metric system and the units of the International System (SI Units) it was thought that it would be helpful to publish metricated charts corresponding to those which appear in the Supplement to War Memorandum No. 17. together with two additional charts which are the result of work in the post-war years, to provide investigators with simple aids for use in the laboratory or the field and to provide a basis for considering the requirements for further research.

Objective: Environmental factors can affect the brain and affect other organs through the brain. Color and light are among the environmental factors that are considered the main features of architecture and they are more in our control. According to traditional medicine theories, the Temperament of a person and his health is affected by various factors. Color is one of the factors affecting hea...
متن کاملPractical benchmarking in DEA using artificial DMUs
Data envelopment analysis (DEA) is one of the most efficient tools for efficiency measurement which can be employed as a benchmarking method with multiple inputs and outputs. However, DEA does not provide any suggestions for improving efficient units, nor does it provide any benchmark or reference point for these efficient units. Impracticability of these benchmarks under environmental conditio...
متن کاملThe Impact of Geological Units on the Groundwaters Quality of Hastijan, Southeastern of Delijan,Iran
This study was conducted to evaluate the quality of the groundwaters and the impact of geological units on these waters in Hastijan area. For this purpose, 11 samples of water resources have been collected with their appropriate dispersal. Physico-chemical parameters of Mn, Ni, Cd, Cu, Zn, As Fe, Cr, and ions K+, Na+,Ca2+, Mg2+, Cl-, So42-, Hco3- as well as indicators TH, TDS, EC, PH were deter...
متن کاملPromotional effect of Si-doped V2O5/TiO2 for selective catalytic reduction of NOx by NH3.
TiO2 supports doped with different amounts of Si were prepared by a sol-gel method, and 1 wt% vanadia (V2O5) loaded on Si-doped TiO2 was obtained by an impregnation method. The mole ratio of Si/Ti was 0.2, NOx conversion exceeds 94% at 300 degrees C and GHSV of 41,324 hr(-1), which is about 20% higher than pure V2O5/TiO2. The catalysts were characterized by XRD, BET, TEM, FT-IR, NH3-TPD, XPS, H...
متن کاملComparing three methods of assessing peripheral perfusion in critically ill children.
BACKGROUND Evaluation of peripheral perfusion is a standard practice in pediatric intensive care units (PICUs), which includes the qualitative assessment of foot warmth. The perfusion indicator, derived from the pulse oximetry signal, is available, along with some bedside monitors. OBJECTIVES To describe the correlation between RN qualitative assessment of foot warmth, measured foot temperatu...
